Adventure Wind Power - The VERBUND Podcast
For Red Bull Media House, we accompany the six-part VERBUND podcast series "Abenteuer Windkraft" (Adventure Wind Power) with ServusTV chief meteorologist Sebastian Weber as video and photo partner. For every episode we produce teaser reels, stories and highlight clips - shot during a heavy transport at night, inside the nacelle and on top of a wind turbine at over 130 metres. The campaign photos for the series also come from our shoots.
The Challenge
- Filming at over 130 metres - every shot is double-secured
- Podcast content, reels and campaign photos are created on the same shoot day
- FPV drone, gimbal and selfie cam switch between tower, nacelle and field
- Climbing harness and safety briefing are part of the production prep
Our Learnings
- One script per format saves hours on the shoot day
- If you climb the turbine with the pros, you get the real shots
- Radio comms between camera team and host keep things predictable up there
- Podcast, social media and campaign all work from a single shoot
The Result
Six episodes of "Abenteuer Windkraft" are live on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and power.verbund.com - accompanied by our teaser reels, stories and highlight clips. The images from our shoots carry the entire campaign: from the podcast cover to the landing page to VERBUND's social media channels.
From the first shoot at the heavy transport to the final episode in the control centre, we are part of the production for several months - proving that a podcast with the right video content reaches far beyond the audio platforms.
